Your Rights

Itsmypost.com provides the means by which you can contact as many companies as you like to stop them sending you junk mail. Under the terms of the Data Protection Act 1998, once a company receives your notification, they are obliged by law to remove you from their database or mailing list.

Sometimes you may receive a letter from a company confirming that they are aware of your request. Please note that this is permitted under the Data Protection Act, so don’t be alarmed. What they are not allowed to do, however, is ask you to contact them yet again to reconfirm your request.  That’s not on.

Please be aware that stopping junk mail doesn’t happen overnight. Some companies prepare their mailings weeks or even months in advance, so it may take a while before your unwanted post stops altogether.

If  you’re still receiving junk mail after eight to twelve weeks?, then it’s within your rights to report the company concerned to the Information Commissioner’s Office.  Alternatively, contact us and we will register a complaint on your behalf with the Information Commissioner and report the offending company to the Direct Marketing Association.
