Components of a Tractor For Suitable Farming in India

Components of a Tractor For Suitable Farming in India

A tractor is made of the following main units as Torque Converter Gear and Transmission Gears, Clutch, Final Drive and Differential Unit, Brake Steering System and Hydraulic Control System, Hitch and Control Board of Tractor,  Belt Pulley, PTO, Tractor Tyre and Front Axle, Control Board or Dashboard of a Tractor etc. Tractors are fitted with an I.C. engine. Nowadays, diesel tractors are widely used and mostly brand made diesel tractors. These are the main Components of a Tractor.

Which is the Best Tractor with all Components:-

Many types of tractors that have available the component. Thus we suggest the Sonalika Tractor that is the most effective in farming. This tractor is convenient for every Indian farmer and you can get various features in this tractor which are the best in farming. Moreover, you can use the Powertrac Tractor.

Component # 1. Clutch:

Clutch is Important member or Components of a Tractor. A Clutch helps to disconnect and connect the tractor engine to the gear of transmission and drive wheel. The clutch transfers power through interference between the driven members and the driving members.

Clutch needed in a Tractor. Why?

Clutch in a Tractor is the Main Part Because of Some Following Reasons:

  • The engine requires starting with any suitable tool.
  • The engine separates from the base of the transmission unit by the proper clutch for easy starting.
  • After starting the engine, the clutch is used to transfer power from the motor to the gearbox.
  • To change gears, you must keep the gearbox free of engine power. Otherwise, the gear teeth will damage, and the gears will not engage correctly. Again, you can do this work from the clutch.
  • When the tractor’s belt lifter works in the field, it has to cease the engine without stopping.

Important Features of a Good Clutch:

  • The clutch should have a good capacity for taking load without dragging.
  • It has the best capacity to transfer optimum power without shifting.

Types of Clutch:

There are mainly 3 types of clutch:-

  1. Friction clutch
  1. Dog clutch
  1. Fluid coupling

The resistance clutch is popular in four-wheel tractors.

Some tractors have a fluid clutch feature available these days. Dog clutches are mainly used in power tillers.

  1. Friction Clutch:

The friction clutch provides gripping action by using the friction force between two surfaces. You can together press these surfaces to transfer power.

When starting the engine, the clutch pedal is depressed. After the engine is started, the clutch pedal is slowly released to gradually increase the pressure on the friction surfaces until there is no slip. The driving plate is thus held firmly to the driving plate. The transmission of power depends on the type of material used for the intensity of the force pressing them together and friction members.

  1. Dog Clutch:

This clutch is a simple clutch having square jaws, which you can use to drive a shaft in either direction. It is mostly used in power tillers.

  1. Fluid Coupling:

The fluid coupling includes the driving member and a driven member.  A runner with a radial vane constitutes the driven member, and an impeller with a radial vane constitutes the driving member. The entire unit is kept in a suitable cover. On the engine crankshaft, a couples is mounted and is filled 3/4 with appropriate oil.

A spring-loaded sealing ring is given to make the driven shaft oil-tight. Upon the crankshaft’s rotation, oil is thrown from the centre to the outer edge of the impeller by centrifugal force, enhancing the speed and energy of the oil.

It then enters the runner van outside and flows towards the centre, rotating the runner unit. As long as the runner and the impeller rotate at different speeds, the oil continues to circulate evenly, but the oil circulation stops when the runner and impeller start moving at the same speed. Thus, the coupling does not increase the applied torque but only transmits the torque uniformly.

Component # 2. Torque Converter Gear And Transmission Gears

The tractor engine runs at high speed, but the tractor’s rear-wheel requires power at low speed and high torque. Hence, reducing the engine speed and increasing the torque available at the tractor’s rear wheels becomes necessary. This is main member or Components of a Tractor.

If engine power is constant, it is clear that higher torque at the wheels requires lower speed and vice versa. The rear wheel for variable torque and speed and so the gearbox is fitted between the engine. This is done by the appropriate design of gears and shafts.

The speed varies according to the requirements of the field, and therefore several gear ratios are provided to suit different conditions. Gears are usually made of alloy steel. Since the tractor has to transmit heavy torque, the best quality lubricants free from sediment, grit, alkali, and moisture are used for lubrication.

Component # 3. Differential Unit and Final Drive:

A differential unit is a unique arrangement of gears to allow one of the tractor’s rear wheels to rotate faster or slower than the other. As a result, the inner wheel has to travel less distance than the outer wheel while turning the tractor on a curved path.

The inner wheel requires less power than the outer wheel; This condition is met by the differential unit, allowing one of the tractor’s rear wheels to move faster than the other on a turn. The output shaft coming from the gearbox is given with a bevel pinion at the end of the shaft. The bevel pinion is in a mesh with a large bevel wheel known as a crown wheel.

Component # 4. Steering System and Brake Steering System:

The system that controls the angular speed of the tractor’s front wheels is called the steering system. This system minimises the operator’s efforts in turning the front wheel with the use of leverage.

The different components of the system are – 1. Steering gear 2. Steering wheel 3. Pitman arm ( drop arm) 4. Drag link 5. steering arm 6. Tie rod and 7. Kingpin 8. Steering shaft.

You can get the best components in the Powertrac Tractor because this tractor is especially suited for farming work. This tractor is powerful, easy to control and easy to drive so that it has a remarkable position in the Indian tractor market. Along with this, the Powertrac tractor price is also budget friendly according to the customers requirement.
