Fire bricks or refractory bricks?
Manufacturing of Fire bricks, Fire clay bricks, refractory bricks are all most same process. They are built from the fire clay. The process of manufacturing of these bricks are same as the ordinary bricks. There are so many fire bricks manufacturers in Kolkata available. But all most bricks manufacturers of Kolkata are burnt at very high temperatures in a special type of kilns. General properties of these bricks are. The colour of these bricks is whitish yellow or light brown. Basically compressive strength values is 17.90 MPa at 2OC min, but as the heating rate increased to 5°C min the strength slightly decreased to 16.34 Mpa. The water absorption percentage of fire bricks varies from 4 to 10 percentage. These bricks are generally used in lining furnaces, kilns, fire boxes, fireplaces. Principal types of fire breaks are Acid refractory bricks, basic refractory bricks and neutral refractory bricks. Acid refractory bricks are of two varieties. They are silica bricks and ganister bricks. Silica bricks consist of 95 to 97% silicon, 1 to 2% lime. DC-36 bricks consist of 98% canister, a hard collared stone with 10% clay and 2% of lime. These are generally used in lining furnaces having salacious and acidic slag, steel industry and Co carbon. Mostly refractory bricks are manufactured from Magnesia, dolomite, cetera, bauxite. The common 2 varieties are magnesium bricks and bauxite bricks. Magnesium bricks consist of magnesium above 85%, calcium oxide up to 25% and silicon up to 5.5%. Bauxite bricks consist of value many a mock side above 85% and clear up to 20%. Bauxite bricks type of bricks are highly resistant to corrosion. They are used for lining furnaces having basic slag. Neutral Refractory Bricks Neutral are available in different varieties such as Chromite Bricks, Chrome Magnesite Bricks, Spinal Bricks. The chromite bricks consists of 50% Chrome, 30% ironoxide and 20% . bauxite The Chrome magnite bricks consist of a mixture of Chrome or and magnesite ore with a minimum percentage. For chromium, 3 oxide is 18% and magnesium oxide is 30%. Spinal bricks are made from the refractory slag produced in an electric furnace consisting of magnesia and alumina. All most refractory bricks are used in places where acidic and basic linings are to be detached.
