Surface temperature measurements were taken in the late morning to early afternoon on hot, sunny days during the summers of 2019, 2020 and 2021. Simultaneous infrared and red-green-blue images were recorded for each playground equipment and floor surface type. Burn threshold values and exceedances were calculated for each piece of equipment. Surface temperatures were also compared to the ambient air temperature of each location.
