How Does Lice Start?
One of the most common questions I get asked is how does Lice start in the first place? This is one of the hardest questions to answer as no one knows the cause of an infestation. Some experts think that the head of a person carrying the eggs is how Lice begins but others say that it may be the parasites that live on the hair and scalp. Infestations can start from an individual child, a pet or another close relative. It is quite possible for a school aged child to get lice which would be quite common in that era.
It is easy to understand how itching can be the starting point for the infection. Lice are parasites that feed on the human blood and body waste, attaching themselves to the skin with sharp hooks. They are very small and can hide in the slightest place so it is easy to assume that every person with a scalp problem will have to deal with pubic lice.
Blood supply problem
Once the parasites attach themselves to the body, they begin living off the blood supply until they can finish eating everything up. Lice can also enter the house through the rashes and scratching that happens with an infestation. When lice bite the body, the acid in the saliva eats the parasite right off. When a child or adult get pubic lice bites, they should wash their hair, put on a new shower cap and stay away from public areas where lice are likely to thrive. Public swimming places and gyms are also hot spots for lice bites so keep these areas clean at all times.
