The two reasons for choosing this color are that in all-weather situations, the color remained vibrant, and pink is a color that symbolizes welcoming someone with respect.

The tone of the color is associated with hospitality. The history behind all the houses in Jaipur having a pink color is due to the enactment of the law by the king. Maharaja Sawai Ram Singh’s queen loved the tone of the color and requested that it be made a law that every house in Jaipur be painted pink and that the use of any other colour be prohibited. The law was enacted in 1877 and is still in existence today.

NAHARGARH FORT
