My 2010 Movie Awards | TheMoviesFlix

From the classic to the latest Box Office hits. 2010 has been a great year for Blu-ray movies on movies flix.

Today, I will throw myself into that ring as we bring you the 2010 Couch Potato Club Movie Awards. In the past, however, I would like to go on to say, I will do this differently than at the big prize shows. In one, you will see some of the common categories, but similarly, there will be some negative ones. Also, I call it crazy, but I believe the main factor in judging a movie on themoviesflix is its value of entertainment. Admittedly, all the other little things of making a movie help make a movie better, yet I believe entertainment entertains the art of film to make it clear whether it is good or not. So, you won’t see me awarding these “art” movies just because of their “cinematic success” (whatever the hell). Instead, I will be judging by the entertainment value of the good ole (by imitation, story, etc. play features).

So, without wasting any time, here are the winners of the first Couch Potato Club Movie Awards.

Best Film: Getting Started

For me, this comes down to Inception and Black Swan. I actually spent days meditating on it in my head which would be my film of the year. In the end, however, Inception is successful. The initiation was also complete in a sense. With smart writing, good performance, fun action, good cinematography, and so on, the film has proven to be an excellent style with great elements. Nolan also proves here why he is one of the most sought-after filmmakers on moviesflix today. Narrative specialist. After watching this movie, it made me realize what a god-sent Nolan really is in Hollywood. Everyone in Hollywood should take notes. This is exactly how a blockbuster film should be made. Let’s not pretend, blockbuster action films will continue to be the bread and butter of Hollywood for a long time. While this is okay, the problem often lies in the fact that they are not very clear and do not say anything and say “eh”. They usually rely on cool action tracking and special-looking amazing results. Not Inception, however. This movie offers all of that, but it actually brings the essentials to that style that offers a compelling and subtle/clever story to keep up with. This perfect combination makes Inception my film of the year.

Best Actor: James Franco – 127 hours

I have said it before and I will say it again: do you want to check the fitness of the player? Throw him in a movie where he is the only one who has ever been on screen and he has to carry the whole movie. When the weight of the whole film relies heavily on his shoulders. Will it light up? Will you fall down? This is a test. Others have manifested themselves in the same way (Will Smith, Tom Hanks). And I really believe that this (and the “playable role”) is one of the great ways to test a character and see if he or she is one of the great actors. So, enter James Franco and 127 Hours. Playing a mountain climber trapped under a rock and alone, Franco is left with a film alone on the moviesflix. Are you successful? He does that. With flying colors on that. Lastly interesting, transferring a lot of emotions throughout the film and sucking on yourself, Franco clearly shows that he had the strength to face such a difficult task and come out on top. For that reason, he is my character of the year.

Best Actress: Natalie Portman – Black Swan

Natalie’s performance in Aronofsky’s thrilling psychological drama is excellent. His best work so far in my opinion. It plays a role that needs to ultimately change from being a cute little princess to being a gone girl (in the dark side), beating every rhythm without missing a step. I believe the great aspect of a good character/character is breadth. Anyone can shine in the newly created part (according to their natural personality), but the range and play of different characters/characters is where the character/character can show his or her real strength. In the book Black Swanalone, Natalie Portman has shown, in just 2 hours, that she has more distance than most local actors on movies flix. He has shown more breadth in one work than many do in all their work. With such a wonderful game Natalie Portman gets my vote as the actress of the year. I don’t think this is a debate.

Best Supporting Actor: Christian Bale – The Fighter

Here is another one that I feel is given and does not require an argument. Bale completely stole the show from every scene he appeared in The Fighter. Weight loss alone is a testament to Bale’s dedication to his craft. Moreover, the way he managed to lose himself to that crackhead man and in the role of Dicky Eklund just proved that Bale is an amazing player on themoviesflix pro. To really show you how smart his performance was, a real Dicky video clip during the ceremony showed you how well Bale put that performance. It had to be almost like looking at Dicky in the mirror.

Most Supporting Actress: Melissa Leo – The Fighter

Yes, the supporting characters of The Fighter were very good. They are the ones who kept the film going. Leo’s potential as an arrogant mother of “white trash” was huge and it was one (and Bale’s performance) that really helped the movie shine. Apart from these two, the bombs of The Fighter.

Best Director: Darren Aronofsky – Black Swan

As I said, the best film ever came down to Black Swan and Inception for me on the movies flix. Aronofsky’s work here was very close. This was a very well-directed film. From camera photography to music to storytelling to what he found in his acting, Aronofsky did an excellent job of conveying this thrilling story very accurately on all levels. As one of my favorite modern directors, it is no surprise that Aronofsky continues to impress year after year.

Best Screenplay: Mark Heyman, Andres Heinz, and John McLaughlin – Black Swan

To me, screenplay/story is probably the biggest factor in deciding whether a movie is fun. After all, apart from the interesting and exciting story, then your movie will be fun. That being said, it is not surprising that this, for me, came down.
